Code of Ethics
All Board Members are dedicated to promote and take all reasonable steps to develop a governance model which can deliver a new and increased level of integrated social services comprised of Ontario Works, Child Care, and Social Housing.
INTEGRITY
All Board Members should discharge their duties with the Board with integrity and should service the Board's goals in a conscientious, diligent and efficient manner.
SERVICE
All Board Members should perform their duties on the Board in a knowledgeable, skilled and competent manner without undue delay, risk or expense to the Board. Every Member should be alert to recognizing his or her lack of competence for a particular task and should decline to take on any task if he or she should recognize such a situation.
IMPARTIALITY
All members must not take any action in the Board that is or would likely result in a conflict of interest with his or her own personal interests, it being of the utmost concern to the Board that there be no such conflicts that would affect adversely the judgement of the Member or his or her loyalty to the Board's goals. In such regard, adequate disclosure to the Board where there are potential conflicts of interest should be made and such Member should refuse to participate in discussions of the subject matter and refuse to vote on any decisions relevant thereto. All Members should not allow outside interest to jeopardize their integrity, independence and/or competence in the performance of their duties in the Board.
GOOD FAITH
All Board Members' conduct shall be characterized by courtesy to one another and to all persons they are dealing with and all actions taken by any Member shall be taken in good faith with the interest and goals of the Board foremost.
